The starting fare for the tele-call service is 20 yuan with no fuel surcharge. The drivers of the new taxis are required to wear uniforms and white gloves.

On November 16th, a launch ceremony for 50 golden Geely-made TX4 taxis, which are the first of their kind in Xiamen, was held in Bailuzhou Park. The operating center successfully handled over 300 tele-call orders after the launch ceremony on that day.

According to one Xiamen resident, he successfully made the order within 1 minute and the taxi picked him up about 4 minutes after his call.

The taxis have an appearance distinctly different from the normal taxis in Xiamen and won’t answer passengers that try to flag them down from the roadside. Customers are able to use the service by calling 968890, or make the reservation through mobile phone apps.

The tele-call service for TX4 taxis from outlying districts to Xiamen Island is not available at present. The passengers can call a TX4 taxi to outlying districts only when they board the taxi on Xiamen Island.

Passengers will be blacklisted if they fail to keep their appointment twice, and the TX4 taxi driver will wait for the passengers at the designated venue for up to 10 minutes and no charge will be incurred during the waiting period, according to the operating company.

The starting fare for the tele-call service is 20 yuan with no fuel surcharge. Other fees will be incurred the same as the normal taxis after 3 kilometers. Passengers can pay the taxi fare with cash or their e-tong card.

All the TX4 taxis are equipped with free Wi-Fi and they feature a larger interior than the normal taxis in Xiamen. Apart from the driver’s seat, there are 3 fixed seats and 1 rotatable & foldable seat. In addition, acoustic panels are also set up in the taxis, so passengers can only communicate with the taxi driver through a speakerphone. A taximeter, air cleaners, 4 surveillance cameras, and navigating instruments are also installed.

The drivers of the new taxis are required to wear uniforms and white gloves and are trained to block the rain for passengers with an umbrella when it is raining outside.
